Our story

A story of craftsmanship, resilience, community and the belief that ability takes many forms.

Our story

OUR HERITAGE

A tradition of making.

The association’s earlier website describes blind artisans producing cane-work and handmade items in Barbados since 1957.

That long tradition is reflected in the craft captured across this website: meticulous chair caning, beautifully woven accessories and a dedication to making objects that are both practical and expressive.

Our story is also about visibility: ensuring that blind and visually impaired people are recognised for their talent, agency and contributions to society.

OUR COMMUNITY

People first. Possibility always.

The association’s photographs show members, staff and supporters coming together in public advocacy, education and creative work. These moments deserve a place in the organisation’s continuing story.
